Dipper gave her a half-smile. “Thanks, Mabel,” He said. Mabel always had a knack of cheering him up. “I’m sure there is,” He added. “So, uh…have you knitted any new sweaters lately?” Though sweaters weren’t Dipper’s thing, he’d figured he could try sparking up a conversation with his sister.

Her hands found her hips in a moment of seriousness, her cheeks puffing in a way indicating irritation. “You can’t rush genius, you know! These things take time!” She sighed. “I need to find my muse, that’s all.”

Sweater knitting? Serious business. Especially to an arts and crafts master.

She grinned again. “But don’t worry about it! Muse works in mysterious ways. I’ll figure it out~” Mabel gasped. “Maybe I could knit YOU one!” Or 12. Probably 12.

“Pfft, if you say so, Mabel,” He said, gesturing his hand playfully. Many times the twins debated on the five-minute difference, and many times Mabel liked making a big about it to the point that Dipper didn’t care anymore. Still, it was fun being teased about it sometimes.

“I bet he does,” Dipper added, smiling though his voice hid the sarcasm quite well. Knowing that every time Mabel flirted with a guy, it wasn’t surprise that the boy she had hit on had been chased away. “Well, just waiting for the mystery in town to solve. Nothing special,” He half-smiled, shrugging.

Just like that, Mabel was already off of the age difference subject. No need to fuss over it. Dippingsauce would understand when he was older.

“That’s how I rollllllll—Aww, wait, really? Is that all?” She frowned. “You usually have something all weirdo-neat you’re dorking out about.” Mabel grinned widely, flashing her braces. “Don’t worry, Dipperooni!~ I bet there’s somethin’ creepy as all get out going on right now that’s got your name aaaaaaaall over it!”

Mabel giggled loudly. “Five minutes more world experience than you, ya little scamp!” She felt the urge to ruffle his hair, but…hat. So she put her hands on his face. Squish.

“Uhhhhhhh, not really! New guy came through the Shack today! He so wants me. What about you? Anything cooool and freaky-deaky happen to you today?” She wiggled her fingers at him.
